What I think of Merlion City

A country that one can barely mark it on the map. That's why I have no doubt that it's easier to manage this place. But kudos to the government that they were able to create a system around here that works. The MRT and bus station even other establishments are linked by an EZ-link card. There's no traffic here even so it makes you want to live here. There are bus stations everywhere and bus routes are numbered. The cabs operate on a high tech system. They have LCD consoles to control whether they are busy or hired or idle or just to display the operator's name and the route to take. GPS I think is operational around here but I haven't really seen one. And of course the drivers are honest, what goes by the meter goes by the meter--they return every cent for change. Everything is systematic and in place.

Their train looks like the new LRT in Manila but faster. What separates the railway system apart is the stations. The stations are similar to the US subways you can see in movies. There are sliding doors in the station that is synced with the sliding doors of the train car. They have three railway stations which caters to almost every part of the country. There's no doubt Singapore is clean but I have seen some restrooms like in the Orchard where it fails my expectation.

The roads are smooth and everywhere there is a green plantation. There are even some parts where the tree arches the road.

The best thing is there is no (or little) racism. Malays, Chinese and Indians cohabitate with tourists and foreigner workers. People respect the differences of each other.

Singapore is also a safe place, no snatchers even in the crowded areas like Little India or Chinatown.

Then again, Singapore is too small. Prolly when you go to all the local attractions here, there's no more left interesting to do. Our country has still far more interesting places to visit than here. But I still admire Singapore because it is technologically advance, systematically organized and economically progressive.
