Personal log, delayed. Stardate 1101.06. No tasks to do last week that we had a frequent beaming down to the world below. A trying time for a friend and with no task to keep her occupied we were left with no choice but to perform the act of negligence of duty. We also beamed down for our mission: to explore strange new worlds and other opportunities. Thursday, we became consumers of pirate goods in MCS. The weather was consistent, everytime we beamed down we experienced a rain or drizzle. Is it a good thing, bad omen or a reminder? This Monday we reported out early to go to Taft and try the word-of-mouth recommended Cello's Donuts.

Amici di Don Bosco

Located along Pasay Road near Makati Cinema Square, Amici di Don Bosco (Friends of Don Bosco) is an Italian cafeteria featuring the flavorful thin crust pizza, tasty and saucy pasta, and pure flavored gelato. Their pizza comes in about 20 (to be verified with memory bank) flavors with a fixed price of 240 pesos. Pasta comes in a big plate that can be eaten solo or shared. The one I tasted was number 15 (seafood vongole? to be verified with memory bank) and it just has the right amount of sauce that it need not additional cheese or seasoning. Gelato comes at only 35 pesos a scoop it's a cheap substitute to Haagen Daaz. To sum it up Amici is all about variety and "just right" taste.

Cello's Donuts

Brainchild of an Atenean but with its second branch right in front of La Salle Taft. Simple deep fried and towel dried donuts that are not too sweet as its Go Nuts Donuts counterpart with variety of flavors I have not heard from others like Oreo, M&M's, Chocnut and even Cheese. A loop for 20 pesos, box of 6's for 110 pesos. They also have dips (Nutella, Toblerone, Dark Belgian Chocolate, White Chocolate Strawberry) for their munchkins counterpart "pillows" which are expensive at 40 pesos a small tub. Pillows have no flavor so dips are an option to give them so. They also lack the cake-like and filling-based donuts like Yummy Vanilla and Boston Creme or Pastillas de Leche, but they make it up with ice cream toppings that's only available for dine in.
